Thank you for visiting the Website of the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation and finding out about our privacy policy.

We do not write cookies onto visitors' hard discs. Nor do we automatically gather personal information such as your name, telephone number or address. You cannot be identified personally from the information transmitted automatically between computers. This information is gathered to meet the technological requirements of using the Internet. Some of it is also used for statistical purpose

Information transmitted automatically

As soon as you access www.mdeie.gouv.qc.ca, information is automatically exchanged between your computer and the site server. The information exchanged enables the server to transmit to you a file compatible with your computer equipment. The information consists of:

• the Internet domain name (for instance, "xcompany.com") and the IP (Internet Protocol) address of your computer when you contact our site
• the type of browser and operating system used to access our site
• the date and time you access our site
• the pages you visit, and
• if you access www.mdeie.gouv.qc.ca from another site (referral site), its address

Your personal identity is never disclosed during an exchange. We keep the required information in order to have a record of the number of visitors, the technology used to access our site, the pages visited most often, the times at which our site is visited, the referral sites and the countries of origin of our Internet visitors.

If you transmit personal information to us

If you send us personal information voluntarily—by e-mail, or by filling in an E-form—we will use only the information we require to answer your message and to follow up on it. Electronic messages are treated as confidentially as hardcopy documents.

In accordance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, if we request that you provide personal information, you will be informed of:

• our name and address
• the intended use of the information
• the categories of persons who will have access to the information
• whether a reply is obligatory or optional
• the consequences of a refusal to comply with the request
• the rights of information access and correction provided by law

Links to other sites

Our site provides links to the sites of various Québec government departments and agencies, as well as to other sites. When you follow those links, you leave the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation site. Consequently, information exchanged is no longer subject to Department's privacy policy. After leaving the Department site, the external site is displayed in a separate browser window. To return to the Department site, you must close the window of that external site.
