There are many ways to appreciate the beauties of Anticosti scenery and discover the richness of its plant and animal life. Whether you feel like relaxing or exploring the Island and its surroundings on foot, by kayak, or on horseback, you will fall under its spell!

Hiking

Two kinds of hiking are possible:

Posted: You’ve decided to do your hikes alone or with other members of your group ? Then before your departure, come and listen to a 15-minute information session given by our experienced guides. Your hikes will be enriched.

Self-Guided:
At the entrance to certain trails, you will find panels with a mine of information about the site you are visiting. Take the time to read them. You’ll find answers to your questions.

Schedule and Length
When you arrive at Port-Menier, we will give you the park journal. It contains the complete calendar of activities for the summer of 2008. For more information, see the Parc national d'Anticosti Web site.

Horseback Riding

Come and discover the peaceful setting of Rivière Chicotte and Rivière aux Plats on horseback. Ride along kilometres of beach and keep your eyes peeled for deer, seals, bald eagles, etc. Excursions with a guide are available at Chicotte-la-Mer.

Sea Kayak

Experience Anticosti from a new angle and admire its coasts, bays and cliffs while being comfortably seated… on the water! Surprise seals, whales, and porpoises in their natural environment. Expédition Agaguk offers guided one-day or half-day excursions from Pointe-Carleton.
