Transport Canada > Transport Canada, Quebec Region - Pilots - Aviation Personnel

Some requirements must be met to obtain a pilot licence, a permit or a qualification. Transport Canada delegates some privileges to industry in order to accelerate the delivery process of a Canadian aviation document.  For the initial or renewal of a Flight Instructor rating, aeroplane and helicopter categories, consult the specific details to this effect.

These requirements are an integral part of the Canadian Regulations Aviation (CARs) complement of the Aeronautics Act which legislates on all the aspects of the Canadian regulation, including measures relating to the Canadian aviation documents as well as prohibitions, violations and punishments.

According to the CARs 400.07, the holder of a flight crew member document MUST advised Transport Canada of his change of address within 7 days following the change, while returning the appropriate form (PDF Format) duly completed by mail or fax to (514) 633-3585.

Notice : When you launch the printing of a PDF document with Acrobat Reader, be sure that the box "Bitmap " is checked before pressing the OK button.

Pilot Log Book:

Under the terms of the Canadian Aviation Regulations 401.08, every applicant for, and every holder of, a flight crew permit, licence or rating shall maintain a personal Log Book.

When an applicant for a flight crew permit, licence or rating is unable to provide proof of flying experience by means of a personal log, due to extenuating circumstances such as the loss of records through fire, theft or other similar cause, this last may submit an Affidavit or Statutory Declaration sworn before a Commissioner of Oaths, to the Minister under certain conditions enumerated in the CARs 421.08.
