Transport Canada > Transport Canada, Quebec Region - Pilots - Aviation Personnel

In order for a pilot to be considered current, in addition to hold a valid Medical Certificate, a pilot must meet the regulatory requirements for recency and currency. The recency requirements may be found in CARs 401.05 and in the corresponding standard in CARs 421.05.

Safety seminars offer by the division " System Safety " are only one of many ways to meet this standard as is the Self-Paced Study program. This 2005 Self Paced Recency Questionnaire was initially published in every last (number 4) Aviation Safety Letter of each year but is now available from the General Aviation (exams) Web site.  When completed, if applicable, it could meets the 24-month recurrent training requirements of CARs 401.05(2)(a). It is to be retained by the pilot.

NOTICE:  The Canadian Aviation Regulations, including the Standards, Policy Letters, revisions and other documents which are attached to it, will always have precedence on the information contained in this document.
