The Main Map View, located at the top left of the Main Map Area, is a navigable view of the selected spatial data layers. The layers spatial extent can be adjusted in the Main Map View using the Pan Arrows, or the Zoom Tools on the Navigational Toolbar.

When no layers have been selected, the Main Map View shows the No layers are currently displayed message.

The spatial area visible in the Main Map View is also displayed, using a red box or cross hair, in the Reference Map.
