Project Overview - Water levels
Each flood has an associated water level that peaks at different locations along the Red River Basin. The expanded floodway will protect us from water levels even higher than 1997. It will provide almost double the water capacity of the current channel, from 1,700 cubic metres (60,000 cubic feet) of water per second to 4,000 cubic metres (140,000 cubic feet) per second.
