Pandemic Planning

Health Authorities

Work is underway in all five regional health authorities in B.C. to prepare for an influenza pandemic.  Health authorities, health care facilities and other organizations at the regional and local level are developing their own pandemic plans in consultation with community stakeholders.

Part of the preparations underway in health authorities include holding information sessions with their local governments, emergency responders and other interested stakeholders to provide information on pandemic preparedness, and to help start the planning process with these organizations.  Local governments and other community partners are encouraged to contact their local health authority to find out about pandemic preparedness in their area.
