Programs that train people for available jobs

Apprenticeship combines learning on-the-job with technical training. You can earn a good salary while working towards a journeyperson certification.

JobStart/Future Skills links short-term workplace and classroom training to jobs.

Referrals to technical and vocational training


Programs that help people make the transition to the workforce or to skills training programs

Employment Programs can provide work experience and skills training, including self-employment

Referral to basic education and literacy programs help people get the basic skills they need to access jobs or skills training

Career and Employment Services assist unemployed individuals to prepare for or obtain work.

Employment Programs

Employment Programs for Employers

Employment Programs help unemployed people on provincial social assistance and on Employment Insurance benefits get the training and work experience they need to get a job. Employers benefit by finding workers to fill jobs.
The program has many ways to meet the needs of all partners involved. There are three components.


Community Works - helps participants gain meaningful work experience, while helping community-based organizations and muncipalities enhance community facilities or services.

Bridging - funds a variety of programs, services and supports that link participants to jobs. These may include: assessment; counselling; life skills; academic upgrading; entry level skills training.

Job Start/Future Skills
This program links training to employment. It provides recognized training and employment opportunities for unemployed Saskatchewan people who need job skills while providing employers with the skilled workers they need to fill new positions.

Self Employment - Participants Information
- designed to provide funding for training, services and supports that assist participants to develop, implement and operate viable businesses.

 

Employment Programs for Workers

Employability Assistance for People with Disabilities Program
The EAPD program provides funding to assist adults with disabilities to prepare for, secure and maintain employment.
Skills Training Benefit
This program provides financial assistance for employment insurance recipients and reachback clients. It offers the financial support individuals needs to take the training required to get a job and keep it.
