Info-Guide – Permits and Licences Required for Certain Types of Businesses

This document has been prepared by Info entrepreneurs on the basis of information provided by Canada Business in order to meet the growing demand from business people for strategic information. Apart from requirements that all businesses have to follow in order to operate, a number of them must also obtain renewable permits, delivered  by Provincial or Federal Departments.  

While most of your questions will be answered in this document, it is not intended to be exhaustive. In addition, we suggest you consult the other Info-Guides listed at the end of this document.

What follows is the list of the main categories of businesses requiring specific permits to operate. Moreover, all municipalities have requirements and bylaws. Before going ahead with your business project, you should find out what conditions prevail in your municipality.
