Service Manitoba -- Good People, Good Ideas Service Quality Partners

Service Quality Partners:
A Volunteer Network of Public Service Employees

Our Mission

The Service Quality Partners champion service and management improvement in the Manitoba government by leading and sustaining change through education, communication, direct assistance and recognition of success.

Who we are

The idea of offering improved learning and educational opportunities to all staff evolved into reality through a group of enthusiastic civil servants seeking to better the quality of services provided by the government

In 1995 the Service Quality Partners (SQP) volunteer network was formed. A steady wave of interest from across the province has increased membership each succeeding year, and the total number of SQP members is now in excess of 1100 civil servants. SQP groups can be found in Winnipeg, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk, Dauphin and Brandon.

Our Principles

  1. SQP is a volunteer network of Manitoba Government staff from all levels who believe in and are committed to service quality and recognition of success.
  2. SQP participation is voluntary and members freely choose their own level of commitment.
  3. SQP is committed to regular, effective communication to inform its members of ongoing activities and new opportunities in service quality.
  4. SQP believes in results and evaluating the impact of activities it offers to its members and all Manitoba Government employees.
  5. SQP supports and works with additional quality networks in the private sector and other levels of government.
  6. SQP believes in continuous improvement through learning, enthusiasm and enjoyment!

What we do

  • Promote pride and awareness in the civil service through the Manitoba Service Excellence Awards (MSEA), which recognize individuals and teams within the Manitoba Government who go the extra mile and excel in the workplace and the community.
  • Provide learning and networking opportunities through the Brown Bag Lunch & Morning Toast Series. These informal sessions feature presentations of internal success stories, updates on current initiatives and topics of general interest.
  • Provinde Training
  • seminars on topics related to service quality such as "Tools and Techniques of Quality," "Performance Management / Leadership," as well as "Teamwork & Teambuilding."
  • Showcase Manitoba Government employees who have been nominated for the MSEA for their contributions of leadership, innovation, service excellence and community service through the SQP Spotlight.
  • Assist Manitoba Government employees outside Winnipeg to develop local community-centered and community-run SQP programs through Province-wide Promotions.
  • Co-sponsor events in conjunction with the City of Winnipeg and the Federal Manitoba Managers' Network. Last year over 400 SQP members attended the various "Learning Series" events.
  • Sponsor QUIRC, the Quality & Innovation Resource Centre, which offers books, videos, reports and quality service success stories for government employees who want to know more about the worldwide quality and innovation movement.

Ride the wave of continuous learning with this thriving volunteer network!
