Other Administered Plans The Public Service Group Insurance Fund Under Subsection 6(1) of The Public Servants Insurance Act, the CSSB shall administer that act subject to the supervision of the Minister of Finance. We maintain three separate plans to provide Group Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Disablement Insurance, and Dependents’ Group Life Insurance for eligible and retired employees, and their eligible dependents, of the Government of Manitoba and most of its Agencies and Boards. Each of the three plans is self-funding. Employee, retired employee and employer contributions, along with investment income, finance all death and disablement claims and administration costs. Money Purchase Account Subsection 64(1) of the Act requires the CSSB to establish in the accounts of the CSSB and maintain in accordance with regulations separate money purchase accounts, as may be required under the Act or the regulations, for employees, recipients of superannuation allowances, annuities or pensions payable under the Act, or persons on whose behalf the CSSB is required or requested to transfer moneys to a money purchase account. Refunds are made upon written request by the contributor. Administrative costs are recovered by the CSSB. |
