Women's Health and Well-Being

Women's bodies differ from those of men in many ways. Women's experiences—whether physical, emotional or psychological—differ as well. Some of these differences are more obvious than others. For this reason, the Advisory Council works to make sure that women's unique issues and concerns are considered separately in health planning and policy development.

Our five-year partnership with the Atlantic Centre of Excellence for Women's Health on the Healthy Balance Research Program has produced significant research. We now have access to current information on the effects of women's paid work and unpaid caregiving on their health and well-being.
