While there were no changes directly related to the forecast of the commodity rate, there were changes to the delivery rates charged by Enbridge as well as a change to the Gas Cost Adjustment between October 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006. These changes will result in a slight decrease to the total costs for a typical residential customer.

This license to operate does not change the ownership of the assets which remain with Cat Lake Power for the transmission component, and the Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation (OEFC) for the distribution component. Hydro One is to take on this operational responsibility no later than August 14, 2006.

Today the Ontario Energy Board issued a Decision and Order determining that competing applications from both Greenfield Energy Centre Limited Partnership (“GEC”) and Union Gas Limited (“Union”) to each construct a two kilometre natural gas pipeline and associated equipment in the Sarnia area were credible and in the public interest. The two competing applications would serve the same potential load – a planned 1,005 MW gas-fired generating station (being built by GEC) in Courtright, south of Sarnia.
