Abstract:
Technology Transfer is defined as the dissemination of science information and data to multiple audiences using a variety of communications media. The theme(s), quantity and depth of content will change with the audience, but will always attempt to meet specific, well-defined needs. The Forestry Research Partnership (FRP) is making a concerted effort to continue the implementation of a solid, well-planned technology transfer program that compliments and builds upon the successes of its first year.

Objectives:
To deliver relevant forest science to operational managers, foresters, planners, technicians, biologists, and many other industry related workers. Other key target audiences include members of natural resources related government and regulatory agencies, educators, the public and FRP researchers themselves.

Location of Project Activities:
Sault Ste. Marie, Mattawa

Key Deliverables:
Intensive, well-packaged programs that synthesize science, technology, and the strategies that will lead to the implementation of ecologically sustainable and scientifically defensible leading edge forestry practices in the area of intensive forest management. This will include the following initiatives: enhancement of the website, demonstrations and tours, educational programs and courses, and workshops.

Expected Benefits:
The timely transfer of forest science to forest practitioners will ensure safe intensive forest management practices will be implemented by industry leading to an increase in productivity.

Sources of Funding:
CFS, OMNR, Tembec, Inc., OLLT, LAMF

Other Collaborators:
Ontario's Living Legacy Trust, Lake Abitibi Model Forest

Nature of Other Collaborators' Involvement:
